MCH has been used operationally<br \/>\nin the Pacific Northwest and Rocky Mountains since 2000 to protect<br \/>\nhigh-valued trees and stands from Douglas fir beetle infestation. MCH is<br \/>\napplied in the spring before Douglas fir beetle flight, which usually begins<br \/>\nbetween late April and mid-May in the interior Pacific Northwest and Rocky<br \/>\nMountains depending upon weather and elevation.<br \/>\nThe pheromone is formulated in plastic bubble dispensers that are stapled to<br \/>\ntrees in a grid pattern in the area to be treated.<br \/>\nThe pheromone elutes from the bubble dispensers throughout the main flight<br \/>\nperiod which occurs between mid May and early July. Because Douglas fir<br \/>\nbeetle outbreaks last several years, stands need to be treated each spring<br \/>\nas long as Douglas fir beetle populations remain high.<\/span><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Beetleblock MCH, Available Now!
